Major projects have professional, dedicated project managers assigned to them. Small and medium size projects are run by line managers whilst doing their normal job. These projects, often lasting less than a year and involving only a few individuals, are frequently late, over-spent and incomplete. This causes embarrassment to the manager concerned and lost benefits to the business. Managers need to be able to run and control such projects (sometimes several at a time) effectively.

We also have a highly interactive competitive simulation that illuminates how to tackle the people side of projects, often the weakest aspect of project management. Participants need to deliver a project and generate as much value to the company as possible despite encountering events that could derail it. There are insufficient resources to tackle all the issues effectively so tough decisions need to be made.
The experiences in the simulation are then linked to the real life issues of the participants.
